FrontRows

Manage YouTube Content Access for Your Paying Members

FrontRows tracks which members hold an active Stripe subscription and controls their access to your members-only YouTube content library accordingly.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Connect your Stripe account

Authorise FrontRows via Stripe Connect. Your Stripe products and customer data are untouched.

  2. 2

    Connect your YouTube account

Authorise FrontRows to access your YouTube account. FrontRows uses this to pull your channel videos and manage access to your members-only library.

  3. 3

    Build your members-only content library

In FrontRows, select which YouTube videos or playlists should be part of your members-only library. Your videos remain on YouTube — FrontRows controls who can see the links.

  4. 4

Map your Stripe products to content access

Choose which Stripe products unlock which parts of your video library. You can create tiers with different levels of access.

  5. 5

    Access is managed automatically

Active subscribers can access the library through the FrontRows member portal. When a subscription ends, access to the gated content is revoked.

What FrontRows manages

  • Tracks entitlement state for each member based on their Stripe subscription
  • Controls access to your members-only video library through the member portal
  • Revokes access when a subscription is cancelled or payment fails
  • Supports multiple content tiers mapped to different Stripe products

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as YouTube Channel Memberships?

No. FrontRows manages access to a members-only library you build inside FrontRows using your YouTube videos. It is separate from and not connected to YouTube's built-in Channel Memberships feature. Members access your gated content through the FrontRows member portal, not through YouTube directly.

How do members access the gated content?

Members log in to the FrontRows member portal using a magic link sent to their email. If their subscription is active, they can view the gated video library. If their subscription has ended, the library is not accessible.

What happens when a member cancels?

FrontRows revokes the member's access to the video library as soon as Stripe sends the cancellation event. Their subscription typically ends at the close of the billing period.

Do my videos need to be unlisted or private on YouTube?

For gated content, setting your videos to unlisted on YouTube is recommended. FrontRows controls access to the links — but unlisted videos add an additional layer of protection since the URLs are not publicly discoverable.

Can I have multiple content tiers?

Yes. Map different Stripe products to different sections of your video library. A basic subscriber could access a subset of videos while a premium subscriber sees the full library.
