Automate Transistor Podcast Access for Paying Members
FrontRows adds subscribers to your private Transistor podcast feed when they pay and removes them when they cancel — automatically, based on Stripe events.
How to set it up
- 1
Connect your Stripe account
Authorise FrontRows via Stripe Connect. Your Stripe setup stays unchanged.
- 2
Connect your Transistor account
Enter your Transistor API key in FrontRows. FrontRows uses Transistor's official API to manage private show subscribers.
- 3
Set your Transistor show to private
In Transistor, mark the show you want to gate as private. This disables the public feed and enables per-subscriber access. Private shows are available on Transistor Starter plans and above.
- 4
Map your Stripe product to the Transistor show
In FrontRows, link each Stripe product to the Transistor show it should unlock. You can map different products to different shows for tiered podcast access.
- 5
Access is managed automatically
Members subscribe → added to the private feed immediately. Members cancel or fail a payment → removed from the feed. Each subscriber gets their own unique RSS link from Transistor.

Frequently asked questions
Which Transistor plan supports private podcasts?
Transistor's Starter plan and above include the private show feature. The private show must be enabled in your Transistor dashboard before FrontRows can manage subscribers for it.
What happens when a subscriber's payment fails?
FrontRows removes the subscriber from the private feed immediately upon receiving Stripe's payment failed event. If the member updates their payment method and their subscription reactivates, they are re-added automatically.
Can I have multiple podcast tiers?
Yes. Map different Stripe products to different Transistor shows. A basic subscriber could access one private feed while a premium subscriber accesses both.
What happens to existing Transistor subscribers?
FrontRows only manages the subscribers it adds through the integration. Existing subscribers you added manually in Transistor are not affected.
Can members listen on any podcast app?
Yes. Transistor generates a unique private RSS feed URL for each subscriber. This feed works in any podcast app that supports RSS — Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and others.
